Introduction to NAIDOC Week for Gawura School and SACS Junior School

Library activities and NAIDOC Week Kahoot’s and challenges for students.

Tuesday:

NAIDOC Week Mufti Day for Gawura and Junior School students.

We are raising money for Connecting Communities Australia (CCA).  CCA plan to bring students from Goodooga in the North West of NSW to Sydney in March 2021 so they can connect and engage through sport and cultural activities.

Students can wear any of the colours from the Aboriginal (red, yellow, black) or Torres Strait Islander (blue, white, green) flags or clothes and accessories that incorporate Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander designs. Donation is a gold coin.

Public event: Macquarie Group are hosting a fundraising event for Gawura for NAIDOC Week. This panel discussion will feature emerging leaders; Thomas Mayor, Michael Kirk and Amy Thunig.

Thomas Mayor will visit Gawura School next week to share his book, Finding our Heart, A Story about the Uluru Statement for Young Australians.
