In September were honoured to have the NSW Education Minister, The Hon. Sarah Mitchell MLC visit Gawura.

Ms Mitchell toured the Gawura classrooms and met with our teachers and students. Ms Mitchell saw how Gawura embeds Indigenous perspectives and knowledge into the curriculum for the benefit of our students.

Ms Mitchell also visited a Wiradjuri lesson in the St Andrew’s Cathedral School and met with school leaders & Council Members. Dr Collier raised the issues of funding for our secondary students with the Minister and a specific focus for NSW of stand alone Indigenous school based on our Gawura model.
