While we couldn’t go out of the school for a day On Country like we usually do every term, students did still get to engaged in some cultural learning.

Students participated in a great presentation online from the Sydney Living Museums about Gadi Women and traditional fishing on the Harbour.

Students got to do some hands on making of their own – weaving string in the way the women used to so they could fish.

Jane Price our years 1 and 2 teacher said the focus on the role of the Gadi women fishing from canoes in the harbour was excellent to learn about.

The Kindy kids who were at school loved the talk and the workshop.  Gawura students will do another presentation like this in term 4 for students.
