Gawura Lunch & Learn

On Monday 21 October, the Macquarie Group are supporting Gawura School by hosting a panel discussion on contemporary issues in Indigenous education. We have an exciting panel of leaders in Indigenous education and Gawura School alumni lined up – moderated by NITVs news presenter, Natalie Ahmat.
Our panel will include:
Tina Ray – Bardi and Jabirr Jabirr woman and Project Director of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
John Ralph – Head of the Gawura School. John’s Indigenous heritage is from the Gumbayngirr Nation.
Pastor Ray Minniecon – Kabi Kabi and Gurang Gurang man who founded Gawura and has dedicated his life to supporting members of the Stolen Generations.
Georgia Durmush – Weilwen woman from the Gomeroi Nation and Gawura School alumni who is completing her PhD in Aboriginal Education and Positive Psychology.
Ivor Rigney-Sebastian – Ngarrindjeri man who is brilliant on the Yidaki (Digeridoo) and the first ever student to graduate from the Gawura School.
