Gawura 2020 Swimming Carnival

26 February, 2020

On a sticky Sydney summer’s day, our Gawura students gave it their all in the Junior School and Gawura School swimming carnival.

Zavier swam in the relay for his House,  Kallarah swam in every race and showed amazing spirit,  Lizzie-Ray went in every race she could too and Josh organised the Winchester relay team and chanting for his house. He also asked every single Gawura student he saw without a shirt to put one on!

Participation was outstanding

Our Gawura students performed so well in the pool and those who were not very competitive had lots of chances of earning points for their House by swimming in the Lizard Lane.

What makes our JSGS swimming carnival unique is that those students who swim competitively can do so and then go on to represent our school at a regional swimming carnival competing against other schools and then those who are not the most competent of swimmers have just as much opportunity to earn points for their House – everyone contributes and brings value to the day!

As you can see from the pictures a great day was had by all.

Well done everyone!
